Zen’s precept for PM on expectations

“I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.” ~Bruce Lee

I have mentioned about expectation during one day in my stoic week. The reason why some of us are extremely unhappy is because we have set a high standard for living a successful life.

In projects, there is an objective statement. When the objective is not met, a project manager may feel inadequate. Instead of dwelling about things of past, compile a lesson learned on what went wrong and what can be improved from there.

Setting standards is needed but having to be depressed over results long time is unhealthy.
